The teachers and non-teaching staff of Ayurveda and Unani Medical Colleges across the state have decided to go on strike from August 9 demanding that they be given salaries as per the recommendations of the Sixth Pay Commission.
The decision was taken at the recently held meeting of teachers and non-teaching staff in the city. There are 16 ayurveda and 3 unani medical colleges across the sate, which are aided.
“The staff in these colleges are eligible for salary as per the recommendations of the Sixth Pay Commission. However, the State Government has neglected us,” said the press note issued by Maharashtra Aided Ayurveda and Unani Medical Colleges’ Teachers’ and Non-Teaching Staffs’ Federation. “As the talks with the government officers have failed, we are going on indefinite strike from August 9,” the press note said
