Incorrectly valued answer-sheets of over 8,000 Of 1st Year BCCA At Nagpur University.

Amazing But Fact Of Nagpur University...
Anything Is Possible at NAGPUR UNIVERSITY..

The Nagpur University’s examination department seems to have committed a huge blunder in its attempt to grab headlines.
Boasting of producing fastest results in the state, the department has incorrectly valued answer-sheets of over 8,000 students appearing in first year Bachelor of commerce in computer applications (BCCA), highly placed sources said.
The syllabus for the course was changed last year and so were directions to evaluate answer-sheets. As per the old directions, the passing percentage was 45%.

The board of studies for commerce in its new directions had reduced it to 40%. It even issued an ordinance in this regard. However, the examination department of the university went ahead with the evaluation as per old directions in BCCA first year.

Consequently, the results witnessed a huge dip compared to last year. So shocking were the results that in many colleges no student was able to clear the exam. From Dr Ambedkar College, only 112 of 200 passed while from Tirpude College only 40 of 118 cleared. In other institutions like GS Commerce, Dhanwate National College (DNC), Hislop, Annasaheb Gundewar, Dharampeth, Kamla Nehru, the results were even worse. Over 50 colleges in the university conduct BCCA course, one of the popular ones among students.

When colleges approached the university’s examination department officials, the officials initially refused to acknowledge there was anything wrong. It was only after commerce faculty dean Baban Taywade, who is also the principal of Dhanwate National College, pointed out the major flaw about not adhering to new directions that the officials realized their mistake.
