Over 2,000 students who aspire to get admissions into top colleges in bifocal stream of std XI may be disappointed. On Wednesday, all bifocal seats in open category in top colleges like Shivaji Science, Ambedkar and Dharampeth Science were filled up with all-time high cut-offs.
According to assistant director of education Rajendra Godhne, who is in-charge of std XI admissions, students seemed to be more interested in electronics as compared to computer science and fisheries. The electronics seats in Shivaji Science were closed at a whopping 97.23% in aided category and 94.76% in the unaided category for open candidates.
Similarly, Dr Ambedkar College closed at 95.38% for open category and 93.84% for OBC while Dharampeth College closed at 94.15% for open category and there are still 4-5 seats remaining in the OBC category. The situation is more or less similar in the computer science branch where admissions at Ambedkar closed at 95.84% followed by Shivaji Science at 95.23%.
