Lack of co-ordination among apex bodies like AICTE, NCTE, University, State Government making suffer B.Ed students. Rashtrasant Tukadoji Maharaj Nagpur University has been caught in its own web on this issue. Finally, on Monday a committee under chairmanship of Dr Gauri Shankar Parasher, Pro-Vice Chancellor constituted will submit its report within 2 days.
Dr Baban Taywade said, the whole trouble arised out of letter sent by Nagpur University to Centralised Admission Committee appointed to conduct admissions to B.Ed course. The committee had asked the position of colleges including their staff position. Except Nagpur, all other universities informed the committee that the process of appointment is underway. But Nagpur had conveyed the committee that most of the colleges are running without principals and full time teachers. Varsity also attracted the attention of committee towards the rule to run a college with 100 intake a principal with 7 full time teachers is mandatory. The college which fulfill at least one condition can admit 25 students. If these rules are strictly applied then only three colleges can admit 100 students and out of 113 colleges, 65 would get their intake zero. This has created havoc and representatives of 100 colleges reached university. Dr Baban Taywade, Dr Bhandarkar and Adv Abhijeet Wanjari met Vice-Chancellor and handed over the memorandum. After detail deliberations, a committee was constituted which has Dr Baban Taywade, Dr Keshav Bhandarkar and Adv Abhijeet Wanjari as members. Dr Vedprakash Mishra, seniormost member of Management Council had proposed to appoint teachers without NET/SET but having 55% marks in M.Ed with any Post Graduate Degree. These teachers can be appointed for 10 months who can be counted as teachers which can save colleges from facing zero intake capacity. In fact, proposal of Dr Mishra was shown dustbin and due to which this problem developed. Now, committee will work and find out what can be done and submit its report within 2 days.
