(PCMA ) welcome MHRD scales (UGC Pay Scales) in Punjab.

Objective of PCMA

• To promote and develop education in Commerce and Management.
• To promote amongst members exchange of knowledge and experience and ideas on sound management principles and practices.
• To make available benefits of its activities and facilities to the public at large without any distinction.
• To work in close collaboration with other organizations having similar objectives
• To prepare, print and publish papers, periodicals or reports and to organize Lectures, conferences and Seminars.
• To promote education in theory and practice of commerce and management through meetings, discussions, Lectures, research projects, seminars, conferences, programmes of studies, organize professional management development programmes in different areas of commerce and management.
• To receive and accept subscription, fees, gifts, donation and grants, scholarships in cash or in kind.
• To accept, purchase receive, take on lease or hire or otherwise acquire any movable or immovable property, rights or privileges.
• To do all such other acts, deeds and things that may be incidental or conductive to the attainment of the objectives of the society.

Now pay scales for college and university teachers in toto. He said that creation of posts of professors in the colleges and award of pay-band-IV i.e (37400-67000) with grade of 9000 is a remarkable step of the government of punjab which will attract the talent in the teaching profession.


The Punjab Government has implemented the recommendations of the Ministry of Human Resources Development Government of India in toto. It is first time in the history of Punjab that Recommendations of the UGC and MHRD has been implemented in toto.
