In order to secure admission to first year of two-year full time MBA/MMS/PGDBM/PGDBA course, the candidate should fulfill the following eligibility criteria :
Passed with minimum of 45% marks in aggregate* ( 40% in case of candidates of backward class categories belonging to Maharashtra State only) in any Bachelor’s degree of minimum three years duration in any discipline recognised by the Association of Indian Universities
Appeared** for the final year examination of any Bachelor’s degree of minimum three years duration in any discipline recognised by the Association of Indian Universities. Such candidates can be considered for provisional admission subject to passing the Degree exam with minimum of 45% marks in aggregate (40% in case of candidates of backward class categories belonging to Maharashtra State only).
Passed with any Bachelor’s degree of minimum three years duration in any discipline recognised by the Association of Indian Universities AND passed in any Post Graduate degree course of minimum two years duration recognized by the Association of Indian Universities in any discipline with minimum 45% marks in aggregate* ( 40% in case of candidates of backward class categories belonging to Maharashtra State only)
Passed with any Bachelor’s degree of minimum three years duration in any discipline recognised by the Association of Indian Universities AND Appeared** for the final year examination of any Post Graduate degree of minimum two years duration in any discipline recognised by the Association of Indian Universities. Such candidates can be considered for provisional admission subject to passing the Post Graduate Degree exam with minimum of 45% marks in aggregate (40% in case of candidates of backward class categories belonging to Maharashtra State only).
NOTE : Candidate is advised to ensure before applying for the CET and the admission to the MBA/MMS/PGDBM/PGDBA programme in a particular University that he/she is eligible for admission to the programme as per the relevant Eligibility Rules of that University. Generally candidates passing qualifying degree examination by part time or by correspondence course or passing in more than one sitting are not considered eligible by several Universities.
2.2 Eligibility Criteria for admission to Maharashtra State candidates (Type A-E)
- Candidate should be an Indian National and should possess basic qualification as specified in rule no. 2.1.
- Scored 30 or more marks in the MAH-MBA/MMS-CET 2009 and appeared for the GD & PI conducted by the Competent Authority of the Maharashtra State for the academic year 2009-2010.

2.3 Eligibility@ Criteria for admission under All India Seats
2.3.1 For Maharashtra State Candidates
- Candidate should be an Indian National and should possess basic qualification as specified in rule no. 2.1.
- Appeared for CAT(conducted by IIMs)/JMET(conducted by IITs)/ MAT(conducted by AIMA in February 2009)/ ATMA(conducted by AIMS)/ XAT(conducted by XLRI) for seeking admission to MBA/MMS in the academic year 2009-10. Such candidates# are required to appear for GD/PI conducted by the Competent Authority of Maharashtra State for academic year 2009-10.
2.3.2 Outside Maharashtra State (OMS) candidates
- Candidate should be an Indian National and should possess basic qualification as specified in rule no. 2.1.
- Appeared for CAT(conducted by IIMs)/JMET(conducted by IITs)/MAT(conducted by AIMA in February 2009)/ ATMA(conducted by AIMS)/ XAT(conducted by XLRI) for seeking admission to MBA/MMS in the academic year 2009-10. Such candidates# are required to appear for GD/PI conducted by the Competent Authority of Maharashtra State for academic year 2009-10.
OR Appeared for the Common Entrance Test (MAH-MBA/MMS -CET 2009), GD & PI conducted by the Competent Authority of the Maharashtra State for the academic year 2009-2010.

- @ To become eligible for admission the candidate should score 30 or more marks in MAH-MBA/MMS-CET 2009 OR equivalent score of 30 marks or more in the All India CET (CAT/JMET/ATMA/XAT/MAT(conducted in February 2009)).
- # MS & OMS Candidates who have appeared for CAT/JMET/MAT (conducted in February 2009)/ATMA/XAT and seeking admission to MBA/MMS course against All India Seats coming under CAP must fill in & confirm the application form for the CET i.e. MAH-MBA/MMS CET 2009 as per the procedure outlined in Annexure-I. Only such candidates will be permitted to appear for the GD & PI conducted by Competent Authority of the State of Maharashtra and will be eligible to participate in the Centralized Admission Process (CAP).
Note :
2.4 Eligibility@ Criteria for admission to J & K migrant candidates
- Candidate should be an Indian National and should possess basic qualification as specified in rule no. 2.1.
- Scored 30 or more marks in the MAH-MBA/MMS-CET 2009 and appeared for the GD & PI conducted by the Competent Authority of the Maharashtra State for the academic year 2009-2010.

- J & K Migrant Candidates who have appeared for CAT/ JMET / MAT (conducted in February 2009)/ATMA/XAT and seeking admission to MBA/MMS course against 15% All India Seats must fill in & confirm the application form for the CET i.e. MAH-MBA/MMS CET 2009 as per the procedure outlined in Annexure-I.

2.5 Eligibility@ Criteria for admissions against seats for NRI/Foreign National/Foreign Student/ PIO/Children of Indian workers in the Gulf countries
- Basic educational qualification as specified in rule no. 2.1.
- Appeared for GMAT (conducted by GMAC, USA)/CAT (conducted by IIMs)/JMET (conducted by IITs)/MAT(conducted by AIMA conducted in February 2009) /ATMA(conducted by AIMS)/XAT (conducted by XLRI) for seeking admission to MBA/MMS for the academic year 2009-10. Such candidates are required to appear for the GD/PI conducted by the Management of the respective institutes.
OR Appeared for CET conducted by the agency (including Association of all colleges of a particular type in the State) approved by Pravesh Niyantran Samiti, Bandra (E), Mumbai-51 for the academic year 2009-10. Such candidates are required to appear for the GD/PI conducted by the Management of the respective institutes.OR Appeared for the Common Entrance Test (MAH-MBA/MMS-CET 2009), GD & PI conducted by the Competent Authority of the Maharashtra State for the academic year 2009-2010.

2.6 Eligibility@ Criteria for admission against Minority Seats/Institute Level Seats
- Candidate should be an Indian National and should possess basic qualification as specified in rule no. 2.1.
- In case of Minority seats, the candidate should belong to the minority community/group for which the institute has secured minority status.
- Appeared for GMAT (conducted by GMAC, USA only for NRI candidates) / CAT (conducted by IIMs) / JMET (conducted by IITs) / MAT (conducted by AIMA in February 2009) / ATMA (conducted by AIMS) / XAT (conducted by XLRI) for seeking admission to MBA/MMS for the academic year 2009-10. Such candidates are required to appear for the GD/PI conducted by the Management of the respective institutes.
OR Appeared for CET conducted by the agency (including Association of all colleges of a particular type in the State) approved by Pravesh Niyantran Samiti, Bandra (E), Mumbai-51 for the academic year 2009-10. - Candidates seeking admission against the Minority Seats in Minority Institutes will have to fulfill any additional eligibility criterions as specified in the Government Resolution and its amendments which may be published from time to time.
Note :
- Candidates securing less than ‘30’ marks in MAH-MBA/MMS-CET 2009 and its equivalent score in GMAT/CAT/JMET/MAT (conducted in February 2009) /ATMA/ XAT/ Association CET/Any other equivalent CET will not be eligible to get admission to MBA/MMS/PGDBM/PGDBA course in the State of Maharashtra.
- Eligible NRI candidates may be offered admission against the Institute Level Seats in Unaided Institutes. For detailed guidelines of Admission Process please refer Annexure III.
- Details regarding MAH-MBA/MMS-CET 2009, the GD &PI conducted by the Competent Authority of the State of Maharashtra are given in Annexure -IV. Annexure–IV also gives distribution of marks (CET-200 marks + (GD, PI, PAR, WE)- 40 marks i.e. Total 240 marks).
- Candidates who remain absent for either the GD or the PI shall be treated as not eligible candidate for the admission and result of such candidates will not be declared and score card will not be issued i.e. it is mandatory for eligible candidate to attend both the GD and PI without fail.
- Any other combinations of Common Entrance Tests and GD,PI which is not specified in rules 2.2. to 2.6 shall be considered as INVALID for the purpose of admissions.
- Candidates who are appearing for MAT (conducted by AIMA) should note that the score of the MAT exam conducted in February 2009 alone shall be considered valid and will be accepted for the purpose of preparing merit list and admissions to MBA/MMS/PGDBM course.
- *Aggregate marks means the grand total of marks obtained by the candidate in subjects based on which the class declaration is made in the particular University from which the candidate is passing the qualifying examination.
- **Candidates appeared for final year examination fulfilling the remaining eligibility criteria will be offered provisional admission subject to the condition that they will pass the examination with the required percentage of marks on or before 25th September 2009. In case, the candidate fails to produce the results of the final year examination on or before 30th September 2009, then admission offered to such candidate automatically cancelled and the fees (tuition, development and other fees) paid by the candidate of the academic year 2009-10 will be forfeited.
- Candidates aspiring to seek admission to the MBA/MMS/PGDBM/PGDBA courses should follow the instructions given in Annexure-I for filling up On-line Application form(s), appearing for CET-2009, appearing for GD & PI, Registration for CAP and filling up the option form etc.
