Friendship Day celebrations take place on the first Sunday of August every year. The tradition of dedicating a day in honor of friends began in US in 1935. Gradually the festival gained popularity and today Friendship Day is celebrated in large number of countries including India. Since then, World Friendship Day is being celebrated every year on the first Sunday in the month of August.

Celebrating Friendship Day in a traditional manner, people meet their friends and exchange cards and flowers to honor their friends. Lot many social and cultural organization too celebrate the occasion and mark Friendship Day by hosting programs and get together.

Friends are priceless assets of our lives. Friendship is a relationship that can't be defined by words. The immortal relationship of friendship renders us speechless when trust, loyalty, understanding, moral support, empathy, intimacy, conflict and anger are shown by our friends. Friendship is a unique bond that is signed for our lifetime! Friendship Day celebrates this exceptional bond of humankind.
